What is Sketchlance?
Sketchlance is a service that connects providers with buyers that need custom SketchUp work. Much like an auction, buyer projects are posted and interested providers bid on them.

How does this work for Clients?
After signing up, you can open a project and provide all the details of the work you want. Sketchlancers will then be able to view your project and bid on it. This is similiar to an auction, but there is no mandatory end date and you choose the winning bid yourself. Once you have chosen a Sketchlancer they will begin work on your project. That's it!

How much does this cost for Clients?
There is no signup fee and no monthly fee, but you are required to give Sketchlance a commission on each completed project. The commission is a 5% of the project fee.

Why should I use Sketchlance for my SketchUp projects?
Because we will find you the best Sketchlancers at the price you want to pay. When you post a project on Sketchlance, Sketchlancers essentially compete for your business. It would take you a long time to request an estimate from as many Sketchlancers just by browsing the Internet, and you still wouldn't have any real competition going on. Here, Sketchlancers bid on your project much like an auction. They can place a new bid if they see another Sketchlancer has placed a lower bid than theirs, this will undoubtedly result in a low price for you. Plus, with no up front fees at Sketchlance, you've got nothing to lose! Also, if you have ever had conflicts when agreeing on how to pay a Sketchlancer, you won't on Sketchlance.

How do I communicate with Sketchlancers?
You can post messages on the message boards. If you post a private message, only the user it's addressed to will be able to see it, that user will also be notified by e-mail that you posted a project for them. Please note: it is strictly against Sketchlance Terms to post contact info on the Message Board

How do I pay a Sketchlancer for a project?
You can transfer money from your Sketchlance account to any Sketchlancer, just click the "transfer money" button in the account management area. You put money in your account by depositing funds into it by Moneybookers or Paypal online payment processors.

Do I have to pay Sketchlancers through my Sketchlance account?
No, you can pay them directly. Note that you will still need to deposit money in your account to cover the commission we charge for completed projects.

When do you charge your commission and how much will it be?
As soon as you choose a Sketchlancer for one of your projects (a winning bid) it will be closed/archived and you will be charged 5% of the project fee.

Do I have to add money to my account?
Not right away, but eventually you will have to or you will not be able to create any new projects.

How do I add money to my account?
Login to the account management area and click on the "deposit" link.

Can I withdraw money from my account?
Yes, just click the "withdraw money" button in the account management area. You can currently request a payment via Moneybookers or Paypal. Note that you cannot withdraw less than $50.00 at a time.

Can a Client transfer money to another Client account?
No, there should be no need to do this. Only Sketchlancers need to be paid.

Is there a fee to transfer money from a Client account to a Sketchlancer account?
No, there is currently no fee.

What if a Client accidently transfers the wrong amount or transfers it to the wrong Sketchlancer?
You will have to contact us and explain your situation. We might have to ask for confirmation from the Sketchlancer.

If the Sketchlancer ends up charging me less than he bid on my project, can I get a partial refund on the commission Sketchlance takes?
Unfortunately no.

What is the minimum amount I can transfer to a Sketchlancer account?
Currently the minimum is $10.

When does a Client have to pay the project fee?
The fee is automatically deducted from the Sketchlance account when the Sketchlancer agrees to complete the project. Please note that there will need to be funds available for this to occur.

Can I make a deposit or withdrawal using a method not described on Sketchlance?
No. At this time we only accept deposits by Moneybookers and Paypal.
